Data protection
1. What personal data we collect and why we collect it
a) Data collected automatically (usage data): When you visit our website, the web server records various log data for technical reasons, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, the domain name of your internet service provider and the time of access. We also use a session cookie, which is technically necessary to provide the shopping basket and other shop functions. This data serves to ensure a smooth connection and a user-friendly experience on the site. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
b) Data provided voluntarily:
-
When you place an order or register in the online shop, we collect your name, address, email address, telephone number and, where applicable, payment details. We require this data to process the purchase contract, organise dispatch and send you an order confirmation.
-
If you use the contact form or send us an email, we store the data contained therein (name, email, message) in order to respond to your enquiry.
-
We will only use your data for newsletters or marketing information with your express consent; you may withdraw this consent at any time.
We do not use any tracking cookies or third-party services (e.g. Google Analytics) to create user profiles.
2. Who has access to the data
Usage and customer data are stored exclusively on revamp‑it’s servers in Switzerland. Access is restricted to revamp‑it administrators, who are bound by a duty of confidentiality. We do not pass on your data to third parties, unless this is necessary for the fulfilment of the contract (e.g. delivery service providers, payment providers) or we are legally obliged to do so. Where data is transferred abroad, we ensure that an adequate level of data protection is in place.
3. Processing methods
revamp‑it processes personal data in accordance with the law and takes appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access, alteration or loss. Data processing is carried out using computers or IT-supported systems and follows organisational procedures tailored to the specified purposes.
4. Form Handling and Data Storage
The online shop uses forms for customer registration, placing orders and making enquiries. The data entered in these forms is transmitted in encrypted form (SSL via HTTPS) and stored in our database. Retention obligations under tax and commercial law may require order and invoice data to be stored for ten years. Data from general enquiries is deleted as soon as it is no longer required.
5. Liability
All information on our website has been carefully checked. However, revamp‑it accepts no liability for the timeliness, completeness or accuracy of the information provided. Liability claims for material or immaterial damage arising from access to or use of the published content are excluded, unless there is evidence of wilful misconduct or gross negligence. We reserve the right to amend or delete content without prior notice. We accept no responsibility for the content or availability of linked third-party websites; use of such sites is at your own risk.
6. How we protect your data
We use state-of-the-art security measures – in particular encryption methods (SSL) via HTTPS – to protect your data during transmission and to safeguard it against unauthorised access.
7. Objection to promotional emails
We expressly object to the use of the contact details published in the legal notice for the purpose of sending unsolicited advertising. revamp‑it reserves the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited promotional information (spam) being sent.
8. Rights of data subjects
You have the right at any time to request information about your data stored by us, to have incorrect data corrected, and to request the erasure or restriction of processing, provided that this does not conflict with any statutory retention obligations. Furthermore, you may object to further processing or withdraw any consent you have given with effect for the future. Please contact us at the address given in the legal notice.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time to ensure it complies with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services. The version published on our website shall apply at any given time.
